When starting to add more languages to my linguistic skills. One of my great life coaches suggested I do something more to connect the learning -combining to the learning the culture. So the brain is making an emotional connection to the language making it more permanent. Any one who has learned languages knows in order to understand the phrases, words, context —you have to understand the cultural context. For Example- Latin is going to have words that define different ascents of war more in deep then other languages because that was their cultural focus. Irish Gaelic even though more localized to the different regions- has lots of Catholic references because historically they fought to keep their religion.
Thankfully during Covid the movement to do all things online was made. Yielding, the virtual races movement I love the city and country ones. I have done Conquerors challenge over 3000 miles. Cycling, Rowing, yoga, tai chi, weightlifting with modifications. Movement with modifications and learning more culture on the way. These races are just another tool for people who have disabilities and need modifications. I have Cerebral Palsy- different lengths of legs, arms, limited mobility. So these challenges give the freedom to convert many exercise I do into miles. Instead of overworking out my left foot to drag foot more then it is. The Google Maps allows me to look at the land, do virtual tours of cities and countries. You get stops of postcards, history, pictures and videos. I love that you save the earth with planting trees or recycle with your purchase of the challenge included.
I learned so much history, culture and languages through moving to my abilities.
